UV Printing

UV PRINTING is a printing process that uses specially formulated photoinitiated inks that require exposure to ultra-violet radiation to cure or harden. The ink cures instantaneously on top of the substrate. The result is superior print quality by color consistency, saturation, and detail in reproduction with superior rub resistance. UV printing eliminates the need for isopropyl alcohols and other VOCs solvents. In contrast, conventional printing process and presses require ink and solvents to dry by volatizing into the air with aid of heat and time.

Our Komori Lithrone SX29 6UV+C is dedicated to UV printing and is for short- to mid-run 6-color plus specialty coating printing and packaging applications on almost any substrate (paper, plastic, synthetic, textile).

The Komori Lithrone SX29 6UV+C can effectively manage substrates ranging in thickness from 0.002” to 0.03”. Maximum printable sheet size is 24” x 29-½”, with a maximum printed image size of 23” x 29-⅛”.

Komori KHS-AI intelligent technology is fully integrated with our prepress workflow automating ink key settings, a dampening system facilitating non-alcohol solution requiring minimum necessary amount of water, automated plate changing, and automatically washes up the press after each print job.
